The rules around stamp duty were changed earlier this year, how much you are charged depends on three things, how much the property is bought for, if the property is residential and if the buyer is a corporate body.
If the property is residential then the charge is worked out as;
You have 30 days from completion of the property sale to pay the total of your stamp duty, even if you don’t have to pay any stamp duty you still have to submit a return. You solicitor or conveyancer should ensure that you don’t miss your deadline.
