Two entrepreneurs from Cardiff have been inspired to forge ahead with a new business service after meeting Lord Mandelson at Downing Street. Wyn Griffiths and Glyn Trott were guests at a reception at number ten, hosted by Prime Minister Gordon Brown last week. The pair run South Wales based Pinnacle Letting Agents and LetMC.com, a lettings software company.
At the reception for some of Britain's top entrepreneurs and innovators, Business Secretary Lord Mandelson urged them to make the most of the economic downturn by continuing to launch new business ventures.
They will now press ahead with a project to offer a centralised rent chasing and accounting service to letting agencies around the U.K. The recession has meant more tenants default on their rent. This has created an opportunity to provide a much more sophisticated rent chase service delivered by the Cardiff based call centre. They had previously piloted the idea with their own company, Pinnacle Letting Agents, who have branches in Cardiff, Newport and Treforest.
Lord Mandelson told them,
"Some of Britain's biggest businesses were born in a recession. The point is to start your business early on in order to be ready for the up-turn, like the one that's going to come our way."
Pinnacle and LetMC boss, Glyn Trott said
"It was good news to hear from the government that they plan to support up and coming companies like ours, through these tough economic times"
